Hi I’ve just joined this group, I had throat cancer 2 years ago stage 4 had 35 radio therapy and 3 kimo, and I’m lucky as it had not spread and it’s now Gone, so there is hope if it’s throat cancer it can be cured.
the radio therapy will produce loads of hard flem, and a loss of taste, loss of weight, reduction in hearing, and they remove most of your back teeth, I had a feeding tube fitted and a machine feeds me when I sleep, at first even drinking was a problem but now it’s ok,
I was 9 stone 5 pounds and thanks to buildup drinks I’m now 12 stone and a lot fitter, it’s a pity this web site don’t let you post pictures like before and after, I’m in Edinburgh and if I can help anyone please contact me, I’m looking for a group I can meet up with and have a chat please point me in the rite direction or if you want to speak with me direct just say, I live in my own and have a car so it’s not a problem, talking to someone who has gone through It and out the other side is really helpful, don’t give up, I’ve had infections spent a lot of time in the western general,
sorry my first post is long but yet I have a lot more to say and a lot more to help.
If you are in Edinburgh then you could always look up the international Head and Neck cancer conference which is there in November. It’s patient friendly.
