Hello
I have my last FLOT tomorrow, 4 in all, I have also have 2 rounds of Carbo and Etoposide. I have my CT scan on the 1st Feb as they plan is to operate so I have fingers and toes crossed they I will still be on this pathway.
The Flot has been tough as people say, the Oxy-legs were terrible!! the two week turn around has given me about 3 days of normality. I would like to thank those that offered side effect advice as it really helped me to be proactive with the Meds.
The change for me is from Oct to early December I was not able to eat food, shakes only. I am now eating normally, I have attempted spicy food, like a curry . I find I need to eat more often or I get like an empty discomfort, not sure what that's about? My sternum feels sore sometimes also? fingers crossed these are gastral related to the growth but I guess it must of shrunk as I can eat.
I am so looking forward to some weeks without Chemo but also apprehensive, it will be back to that waiting place, and this is it, which pathway? I wish I had not been told IT was high grade, this bit really sticks in my head!!
What lovely blue skies I have in the south at the moment, beautiful
Hi Vonn
How is Andy getting on ,is the eating getting any better?
I received a message from the surgery team today to say I’ve got an appointment on 28/06/2024 regarding Histology and the on going plan, although they can’t give results over the phone they implied that there was nothing unexpected so hopefully all is looking good (fingers crossed)
After that appointment I suppose it will be back to oncology and then chemotherapy things are starting to get going again have you got any ideas how long between surgery and 2nd round of FLOT. I am now 5 weeks post surgery so it will be 6 weeks when I meet the consultant
I hope you are well and Andy is getting better love and Best wishes to you both
Alasdair
Hi Alasdair
Hope your meeting goes ok next week I'm sure they have everything under control.
My chemo started 3 months after op but you may start a bit earlier than that, everyone is different and they adjust the treatment accordingly.
Talk soon my friend
Best wishes
Dean
Morning Alistair
Andy is doing better with feeding now, he's learning what and how much he can eat so every day he is improving !!! We've realised that bread is a NO.
Pleased to hear that your histology results are back and sounding positive that's a massive relief for you.
Andy saw the surgeon on Monday which was 8 weeks since surgery but no histology results and we were told a couple of weeks before he sees oncologist so just waiting for an appointment now. It looks like you're steaming ahead !!
Hope all goes well
Best wishes

Good morning Vonn
My consultant told me to avoid Bread, Pasta and rice as they all clump together making it hard to digest and also chicken as it can be quite stringy. Anything that has a high sugar content especially chocolate and for some reason Bacon. I’ve tried to avoid all of these foods and so far I haven’t had to much trouble
Hope this helps Best wishes
Alasdair
Hi Vonn
Glad Andy is feeding better and yes you soon learn what not to eat, bread and rice definitely a no for me. It is hard getting the portion sizes right as well.
I hope to hear from my team today about blood test to see if any levels are down.
At least the weather is good for now, so nice to see the sun
Hope you get your appointment through soon
Best wishes
Dean
Morning Alasdair
Glad you are getting on top of your eating, it is difficult isn't it.
I don't touch bread rice or pasta either and that seems to work for me as well.
Milk on its own isn't great but in coffee or with scrambled eggs it's fine. Such a lot for our bodies to deal with but sure it will get better in time
Hopefully my blood test results will be back today so will see if my iron or anything else is low
Have a nice day and enjoy the sunshine
Best wishes

Hi Dean
I seam to be getting on quite well with this new eating regime My wife had fish and chips last night and I actually managed a large Battered sausage with no adverse effects,it certainly makes eating out a lot cheaper
I’ve managed my protein additives by pouring it in with the jevity feed so far so good.
I’m just hoping that this feeding regime gets easier over time as I don’t have an appetite anymore and I really used to enjoy my food
Hope your getting on okay my friend and how’s the cycling coming on
Best wishes
Alasdair
