It was suggested to me by one of the consultants that i saw at The Royal Marsden Hospital this week that it might be worthwhile for me to have some immunotherapy to help treat my Oesophageal cancer, and i was wondering if anyone has had this, and wondered what it is like, and how successful it was?
Thanks very much. This is what i was told by the consultant that i saw at The Royal Marsden hospital at Chelsea on Tuesday. Hope it goes well for your brother.
Immunotherapy extended the time that my husband could have treatment for a few years, definitely worth looking at if you are eligible for it.
Good Luck

I am fortunate as the CT scan i had in August showed that the cancer had not spread any further which gives me hope.
Just to update everyone on how i am doing. Three weeks ago i saw a surgeon at The Royal Marsden Hospital at Sutton who told me he was very confident of removing my tumour which is 10cm long, and that i would be back to leading a normal life by early summer in the New Year. That was encouraging news. I then had a pre-operation test at The Royal Marsden hosp in Chelsea 2 weeks ago which went fine. I then went in to see the anaesthetist who said that if i went ahead with the operation there would probably only be a 20% chance of it being successful, and it it wasn't my qualify of life wouldn't be the best, so i have seen two people with totally different opinions.
I then saw my own cancer surgeon in Hereford yesterday who said that he wants to wait and see what the surgeon says who i saw at The Royal Marsden says on Friday when i have a phone consultation with him. The good thing is that i dont feel any different than when i was diagnosed 3 months ago.
I wish you continued luck with the diagnosis and forthcoming treatment, the specialists will do everything they can to give you the best outcome

I had surgery at the Royal Marsden and they were a fantastic team and I was well looked after and still am. Everyone from the anaesthetist, surgeon and nurses.
You are always so positive which is brilliant. I tend to take each day as it comes, and i am feeling good atm.
