Enlarged lymph nodes after 4 years

In October 2020 I had the Whipple surgery for Duodenal Adenocarcinoma, staging pT2 N0 R0

All disease was removed by surgery and no other treatment was required

Last month my 4th end of year scans were done, I have received my results by email this weekend, the report looks fine with no changes from last year apart from having some enlarged nodes in upper abdomen

During surgery 32 nodes were removed and all were clear

I have been admitted into hospital with infection 44 times in 4 years, which was down to being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes instead of Type 3C, Hyperglaceamia caused blood infection

I have heard nothing from my Consultant regarding these last scan results and anxiety is getting me again

Has anyone else had this or similar happened to them than could offer any advice

Thank you

Derek

Hi derek221060 welcome to the forum.  Would you have expected to hear from.the Consultant if the scans showed minimal change. I'm assuming it's the consultant that the email comes from? When I got any results they came from my Consultant so I then knew they had seen them. If I was you I would be tempted to give the consultants secretary a ring and see if you can get an opportunity to talk with the Consultant which would hopefully alleviate your anxiety.

  • Hi Thank you for your reply

My Cosultant was supposed to call me for a telephone appointment last Thursday at 2pm, I've still had no call

The results were sent Thursday at 11pm

I have tried calling his secretary

    I've also reported to PALS
