Hello
I noticed you hadn’t had a reply yet and thought I’d send you two links for you to browse through. There’s lots of useful threads on here to give you hope.
Not exactly the same but there was another thread of some other people who also have recently been diagnosed with secondaries and also a link to a positive news thread (when you are ready to browse) of women with secondary breast cancer who are living with long term breast cancer.
Hey there, my sister was diagnosed in January 2017 with secondary breast cancer with extensive bone mets, including her pelvic bone. She was 43 at the time. Its so scary fornyou but I wanted to share her story with you. 3 and a half years one she is on her second line of treatment and has been told by her oncologist that there are many more out there. She has had some radiotherapy on her hip and spine during those 3 years but it worked wonders for her. One of her oncologists calls it spot welding lol.
My sister is leading a normal life and apart from having 3 monthly scans and the odd hospital appointment she is doing what everyone else does. She was understandably terrified to start with and always seemed to be at hospital appointments but things settle down.
Your oncologist team will find the right treatment for you and you will hear the magical words that you are stable. Take all the help you can get to get used to a new normal. The NHS are incredible at treating cancer so put your trust in your oncologist team. They will look after you.
Sending you a virtual hug.
