Hi ladies,

I had my first zoladex injection when I saw my oncologist yesterday. I also got my treatment plan which is letrozole, ribociclib and Denosumab. Are any of you ladies on this plan? If so how have you found it and have you had good results? Xx

    Hi

I am on something similar: Ribociclib tablets and Fulvestrant injections in bum each side once a month. As I’m post menopause that is the Fulvestrant.
If you see my profile it gives a description of where I’m at now.
I start cycle 4 ( month 4 ) of Ribociclib tomorrow Sat evening. So, really appreciating my 7 days off ( actually I feel better for 6 days). On the second week of 3, I start to feel chemo fatigue and by third week pretty tired!
I try to plan social activities etc for week off and first week of cycle Blush

The Oncologist talked to me about Denosumab injections, but as 10% of people may develop jaw necrosis, it put me off. I did attend a group for secondary Breast Cancer ( Mets) organised by Breast Cancer Now and three ladies attending had issues with their jaw, so I decided to decline.
My diet includes milk, butter, cheese, yoghurt and blood tests don’t show a deficiency.
My main SE on current treatment are fatigue/ dry skin/ sore eyes/ some mild hair loss/ insomnia.
On prescription I take VitD3. Also take to help health VitB12 and Vit C.
I have a CT scan Feb 18th and get the results mid March, then I will know if it’s working

ps please be aware that some meds can cause blood clots. I developed some in my lungs on Capecitabine and was having daily blood thinner injections in stomach ( tablets had bad side effects). I had developed shortness of breath going up hills, and as I walk everywhere ( don’t drive) realised something was not right. Had an x ray,  then CT scan showed the presence of clots.

Something like 10% of people with cancer or on cancer medication may develop Bloods clots in lungs or DVT.
The Oncologist took me off the blood thinner injections ( was on them for a year), when I started current meds. I am aware of what to look out for now.
