Hi all,
My partner has metastatic breast cancer and been undergoing chemo (Paclitaxel) for a couple of months + radiotherapy on her spine (for pathological fractures).
She is due to receive bone strengthening drugs but we are currently unsure which of the above she will receive. Does anyone have experience of them and the pros and cons. We understand that Denosamab has more Cancer fighting properties than the biphosphanates (acids).
Thanks, John
Hi John, I have metastatic breast cancer which is hormone positive. I am on denosumab injections every four weeks. I have been on them for a year and don't seem to have side effects from it. I wasn't given a choice because the oncologist said something about osteoclasts and osteoblasts. I am not sure now can't remember but denosumab was best for my type of bc. I wish your wife well, make sure teeth are checked now before she starts.
Lee x.
Thanks for your reply Lee. I`m glad the denosamab is working ok for you. We will hopefully find out which drug soon.
