Hi
I finished chemo in June and radiotherapy in July. Now 3 months later I feel so much better. Hair coming back and taste buds much better and I’m able to do most things now. However I still pay attention to my body and if I’m tired I rest.
I’m on letrozole and Ribociclib but generally feel well . There is light at the end if the tunnel! Good luck with your recovery x
Hang in there.
I'm 2 months post radiotherapy. I was pretty tired for a couple of weeks after, but now my hair is growing back nicely (I also cold capped, but lost a lot of it) and have had it cut into my first short hairstyle, so I feel more confident going out without hair bands/wraps.
I'm on Anastrozole and Abemaciclib, and am having Zoladex implants and IV Zoledronic infusions. I'm doing pretty well on them all, and the side effects are manageable, and nowhere near as bad as I thought they would be.
I'm finally feeling ready to start thinking about returning to work - during chemo, I just couldn't imagine feeling well enough to re-engage with life before treatment.
I'm getting to know what I can and can't do and finding the right balance for me...I've realised that its important to doing the things that make me happy, whilst not overdoing it and accepting that some days I need to just chill.
You will get there. All the best for your remaining chemo and radiotherapy xx
Im6 wks post radiotherapy after 6 rounds of chemo which finished in June .Ii to am in the same meds as yourself but had bad side effects to the abemaciclib so have come off it for a week but will try a lower dose I think to see if I can tolerate it .
My hair is growing back nicely I'm liking the new me .
I am beginning to feel like the old me most of the time and have gone back to work today after 9 months be it only phase return 4 hrs but it felt so good .
Thank you. I'm looking forward to finishing. Thanks for your reply. X
Sorry to hear you've struggled on Abemaciclib...I do feel fairly lucky that I've only had manageable side effects so far.
I'm so pleased to hear you've enjoyed going back to work today; I hope I feel the same.
We are indeed amazing!
All the best x
I had surgery in July 2024 and I finished chemo in January of this year and then radiotherapy in March of this year. I lost all of my hair after 1st chemo treatment. I had 3x EC and then 9 Paclitaxel. I didn't use a cold cap as I felt it had no benefit either way. 7 months later and it's relatively grown back to enough where I don't wear a wig or hats. Still feel people are looking and judging and giving the "sympathy eyes". But it is what it is!!!
Every day is a journey. 1 day I feel full of energy and then die for the next 3 or 4 days. It is getting better. I have more good days than bad days but it's everything in moderation and step by step. I have a very different outlook on life now and learned not to push myself
You will feel better but it's just time and listen to your body most importantly.
Wish you all the best
Thank you. Yes pacing yourself seems to be key.
Best of luck to you
