Im 35, was diagnosed with Tubular pattern with focal LCIS in December 2023. Waiting for a mastectomy next week. I'm worried that tumour type and grading mught change to more aggressive after surgery, and therefore not allowing myself to relax or take reassurances at face value. Has the grade/type changed for anyone here?
Looking for how frequent this is and I'm not alone
Hi One Step - sorry to hear your diagnosis - try not to worry and keep busy whether it’s working or seeing friends and family - also don’t google either !
Where our diagnosis is concerned it’s not really until we’ve had surgery do we see the full picture. My care plan changed from not having chemo to having to endure 6 rounds. Whatever happens anything is doable and we just carry on and get through our rollercoaster of a journey.
This forum is great and everyone one on here are lovely so helpful and you will soon find out you are not alone.
I hope your surgery goes well next week x
Hello, my grade changed after surgery from Grade 3 to Grade 2. The size was also confirmed, nothing on mammogram, 2.5cm on ultrasound, 5.4cm in MRI, 3.4cm real measurement post-surgery.
The type of cancer I had was invasive Lobular, which I think is quite different from the Ductal form. No change in that.
I did have to adjust my treatment plan to include 6 months of chemotherapy because of lymph nodes involvement, which was not originally planned, although the poaaibility was discussed with me.
I wish you all the very best x
