Nails

Am going through this just now, didn't know toe nails could cause so much pain! Think I have had 4 drop off, toenails that is

You could try some Polybalm. I used it all the way through chemo and my nails did really well. It’s not cheap but it lasts a long time as you don’t need very much.

That sounds good I couldn't use any thing as my one dose of docetaxal I had such bad side effects peeling skin and blisters on hands and feet. Couldn't have any more of it as there were so many side effects still suffer peripheral neuropathy in my feet jabbing now and then and I had it in February  Nails are ok now toe nails not so good but growing out. Oh the joys x

That does sound very unpleasant. It does take such a long while for the chemo side effects to sort themselves out after stopping. Even hair takes about 18 months to 2 years be suitable for a short bob. I don't think I had that factored in to my recovery times either!

Yes I'm nearly 3 months post chemotherapy, thought I'd dropped something on my toes at first as went purple...After 2nd chemo...Still half purple and ridged now. All my fingernails developed 4 deep lateral ridges they're called 'beau lines' I think from docataxel..gradually growing out, but nails brittle  dry & fingers sore...also peripheral neuropathy from first BC 21 years ago...now even worse sensation like burning constant, no feeling after treatment for new BC. 

Chemo is a pain and leaves its mark on us. I hope that burning pain settles down with time. There are medications that can treat neuropathic pain if it gets too much. You can ask your BCN or GP if its too much for you x
