Hello
I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?
Hi Shaz , thanks for info . I think I will just have to suck it and see how it goes . I can work from home pretty much all the time just not sure I wi have the energy . Am gutted that my hair has grown back and now I will lose it again . Still on the positive needs some spring hats now . I will start the chemo within next 3 weeks dependant on appointments xxx
Oh Mel I feel for you . I found EC hard and was due Docetaxol but the oncologist changed it to weekly pacetaxol as they said side effects not so rough . Hold on to the fact there is just one more left . You are doing so well . Nearly done xxx
Hi Ratty , ooh sounds painful , hope it improves soon . Big hugs xxx
Hi Harley, so overall your appt sounds like it went quite well and that you felt listened to and reassured. I´m so pleased!
Is PC chemo carboplatin or something else? And will you be taking it as an oral tablet or as an infusion? I hope you have a few weeks to rest at least before starting? xx
Ratty, I´m sorry to read about your trapped nerve. That sounds nasty and such a pita on top of everything else! xx
Hi Doria it is pacetaxol and carboplatin and it is infusion weekly . I think I will get a week or 2 before starting xxx
Hi Rattybaggins, hope your feeling better soon. Yes chemo finished, my heart scan fine, so seeing consultant this week and he can arrange to continue my herceptin. Also my surgery being planned as well, so just pleased my treatment is moving forward. Love and hugs xxx
Hi harleybear, your treatment will be starting soon. I did not find paclitaxel to bad, docetaxol I found brutal as well Mel and I only had one cycle. So you have done amazing. Any tips for my surgery please ladies, it's being confirmed next week on my appointment. Masectomy with immediate reconstruction, think implant but if needing radiotherapy then tissue expander. I don't think they remove any more lymph nodes do they. This is to remove my area of dcis, my lymph nodes was clear when they removed my lump. Love and hugs everyone xxx
Hi Harleybear
I'm so glad to hear that your appointment went well and that your tumour had some response to the chemo. Well done for plucking up the courage to ask about surviving the disease and that you are happy with what you were told. You've come such a long way since this started
Completely up to you of course but do think about doing the radiotherapy when you are finished with chemo, it's not as bad as chemo. I've no doubt told you this already, I had radiotherapy after my chemo and operation and I didn't have too many side effects. The only side effects I had was a sore throat towards the end of my radiotherapy and slight burning on my collar bone which I wasn't very sore.
Best of luck with your next round of chemo.
Love and hugs
Daisy xxx
