Hello
I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?
Thanks for explaining lovely. I hope that your team tomorrow get onboard with your wishes. You go get ´em! xx
Mine is ER positive but a woman I know with triple negative is going to be given it too. I was told it was part of a trial xx
Hi harleybear, yh so pleased chemo is behind me now and done. I can continue with herceptin now my heart scan is fine. I am still awaiting to hear about radiotherapy. My appt is one week tomorrow at the breast clinic, so can discuss it and hopefully will be given a surgery date. But it has to be 4 weeks after chemo has finished to give your body time to recover. Is zometa bone infusions. I was started on bone infusions from cycle 2 of ec and believe I will have them every 6 months for 3 years. Wishing you well tomorrow this is your appointment to discuss your treatment so go and get them harleybear. My appt with oncologist is Thursday so I am wanting to discuss nerlynx tabs. Its an Immunotherapy medication which under nice guidelines I can have included in my treatment. But first thing first, herceptin and surgery, ? Radiotherapy. Love and hugs xxx
Good luck tomorrow. Make sure you discuss all of the things you want to.
Hello all . So the appointment I was dreading was not as bad as I had built it up on my mind . There were some positives to hold on to . Firstly it appears that the tumour did respond to the first lot of chemo , which is great news. I finally had the courage to ask some questions about surviving this disease and I asked for honest answers . I already knew that TNBC has a high recurrence , especially in the first 3 years . The oncologist told me that it can often recur in other places in the body but the fact that my CT scan was clear is positive for now . He told me that predictors based on estimating the size of the tumour suggest there is a 75% survival rate at 10 years . I’ll take those odds . So they are going to Chuck more treatment at me to ensure I am one of the 75% . I am going to have weekly PC chemo for 12 weeks . He wants to do radiotherapy too but I told him for now it is not what I want but will discuss nearer the end of chemo. I asked about zoldronic acid but he said they are not allowed to use it in my health authority. However there is a similar drug that he would prescribe that i wi take if I can tolerate it for the next 3 years . All I all I am much happier now I have a game plan . I know it’s going to be a long haul but needs doing . I am going to try to rest and enjoy the time until the chemo starts and get myself as prepared as I can be physically.
Claud / how are you not heard from you for a while , hope you are ok as worries about you .
Key and Shaz I know you’re chemo regime is the same as the one I am about to start . Would you say that it is possible to work full time whilst having this treatment?
Mel, Venice ratty , VW, Doria , Daisy , trickytee, sunshine hope you are all ok big hugs to you all and anyone else I have missed off xxx
Hi harleybear so good to here your appointment went well and you are pleased with your treatment plan. I did 6 weeks of weekly paclitaxel ( I had one 3 weekly cycle of docetaxol so I had 9 treatments of taxol) I found it much kinder that docetaxol. I did have steroids and antihistamines before my treatment. Sometimes it can give you an upset tummy but mine wasn't to bad. My nails are so far fine and havnt had much tingling in my hands or feet. Are you working from home. I am not working at the moment but to be honest have felt well enough to do some work from home if need be. Everyone is different harleybear. I have felt more tired with the last treatment, most probably the cumulative build up of treatment in my body. When are you starting your chemo harleybear. Love and hugs xxx
Hi, so glad you had a positive consultation today and a plan of action. I have just had my 5th chemo, docetaxel, which is brutal compared to EC , only 1 more to go now x
Hi Harleybear, so glad you got on ok, and are feeling much more positive......so pleased for you,,,,,you are doing great.....I have had a rotten week, trapped nerve (ulner) I think, on painkillers for now....anyway, all the very best to you and everyone.
