Why do I feel so exhausted ?  I have not even started Chemo yet. Is this the cancer spread everywhere.  Feeling really down today . Just feel like I am disappearing down a black hole .   This diagnosis has floored me and I know we all feel that way .  I have had many tines over the past year when I thought about ways not to be here .  Been dealing with some very difficult and painful personal issues    Still not completely resolved have one big hurdle to get over at the beginning of November    Anyway is this all my fault for thinking such awful things ?  . Am I about to get my wish ? Do I even want another year of pain and suffering. Can’t see a future xx

  • Think I may have to as can’t see me doing it alone . I had to have my mum touching my leg when I had an MRI last year due to a broken shoulder .   I just needed to know someone was there x

  • Thankyou .  Hope your journey here is going well and you have a light at the end of that bloody tunnel xx

Seems we are about in the same boat...partners in crime huh??

Would you mind explaining difference between picc line and canula ? I dare not even Google it I am THAT scared.

Also what is a cold cap? How does it help?

Keep taking baby steps ...you ladies do more for me than you will ever know...just by talking and cheering each other on does wonders.

How do u feel after bouts of chemo?

Thinking and sending you positive and healing  vibes

Cannula is like having blood transfusion, it's just a needle in back of hand taped in. It comes out before you leave. Picc line is in top of arm (inside) which is left in and needs to be flushed out between treatments, but it stays in, unless there's a problem.

Cold cap I found just too unpleasant a bit like having your head in a very cold vice. Could only manage 10 mins asked them to remove it. So I'll risk going bald. What the heck it's only hair. It'll grow back.

    Good luck and keep talking

  • Hey Claud , it’s a club none of us want to be in but we are stuck with it now !   Supporting and sharing is so helpful

I  not sure about the cold cap but since I have been told that I will lose my hair if I decide to do the chemo I am going to try it . Lots have said that it helps stop hair loss .  Xx

Super explanation. I am not too bothered about balding..I will just say I match my partner! Lol but I can understand others may feel different...there is also wigs where one can really have fun Pretty Woman style too lol

What is it called the other one with the hole in the chest, that's another way to administer chemo right? Not too sure I would want picc line. I am pretty clumsy, so may tug on the line mistakenly.

Like you I am also feeling lethargic post diagnosis, your mind and emotional stress has sky rocketed with news of diagnosis...I guess this indirectly drains you of all your energy!

I have sat to write down nutrition plans, food can do wonders to raise your energy levels. You can do it...we are with you all the way.

No one wants BC. We're here though. Some ladies say the quicker they get the show on the road the faster it will be done and dusted. I will cling onto this...you will come out the other side. Please try to believe and have faith. Get someone to go with you to appointments for support...does help!!

You are right...no one wants in on this club. We are here nevertheless

Would you happen to know what other side effects of chemo. I am told ulcers in places and nails may fall off...I am trying not to laugh...but what will I look by the end of it...everything's falling apart at 47!!

  • When you say it like that it is fairly laughable . My oncologist said I would also be put on steroids , for the first 3 cycles I will lose my hair and feel sick , then when they change the drugs I will become weak and fatigued .  So all in all I will be throwing up with a face blown up like a balloon from the steroids , no hair and no nails . Sounds so attractive -  Humpty Dumpty eat your heart out bet  I can stay on the bloody  wall though .  We are woman  RoflRofl Hang in their ladies xxx

  • Harleybear you have made me smile, I actually now want to crack on with it and get it done. We all give each other strength and support on the forum and it's lovely. Come on let's roll up our sleeves and do this because we can and we are going to xxx
