Hi can I get any feedback from anyone on here as to whether they have NOT gone ahead with chemo after a mastectomy ? My resolution was all clear and margins and lymph nodes.
We have an appointment on Tuesday. I’m Just getting worried sick. Spoke to the breast nurse and she said it could be scarring of the tissues as they did a node biopsy. But obviously she is not 100% sure. Spoke to the gp who said to wait for Tuesday as the surgeon will examine. So I feel helpless but feel that if it’s something I’m going to blame myself
Hi Daizy
I am so sorry to hear your news. I cannot take away your fears and worries that would be unkind. But I will say to you is that if you can distract yourself in any way possible until Tuesday you are more likely to be in a better frame of mind to take in whatever news you get. I have done everything from sorting out drawers to knitting long bits of uselessness
Take care wishing you well
Thank you Casput. We got the results today unfortunately two nodes are positive. They said we have to wait a bit more for more precise results. I’m worried this waiting time is going to cause it to spread
Hi Daisy03
I am sorry to hear your news, it really is a trying time waiting for news. You really should not worry about the cancer spreading at this early stage. Having said that you may have to think quite positively about having chemotherapy, if that’s what your cancer care team advise. Once again think positively and look on this as a journey to be a cancer survivor.
Stay safe and I wish you well and message me anytime.

Hi casput thank you for your positivity. It’s really really difficult I’m sure everyone is going through the same struggle. They did remove the cancer but it’s the lymph nodes that I am worried about. Do you think the spread from the lymph node wouldn’t be so quick ?
Hi Daisy03
I think that you should remain as positive as you can. You will hear no doubt from your cancer care team very soon what their advice is for ongoing treatment. So as I have suggested before, take a small break from your treatment and do something that will help with your mindful wellbeing. A trip to see friends, or better somewhere where you can remember feeling so happy and free. Above all that take care of yourself, be kind to yourself, have that lovely hot cup of tea with a special chocolate biscuit.
Message me anytime and take care of yourself
