Grade three invasive aggressive breast cancer

I am trying to get to grips with the Anastrozole and waiting for a dexa scan to find out my bone density and hopefully will be able to have Bisphosphonates by IV once every six months. Such a journey.

I’m so sorry all this is happening. But I’m glad they found out about it. Not sure why they didn’t offer scans before.

the surgery is done but waiting for results next month. I’m hoping they’ll tell us the treatment plan once they give the results

would you know if someone has clear margins?

When they remove tumour they check the tissue carefully to make sure there is a clear perimeter of healthy tissue. If there isn’t they undertake further surgery to make sure no cancerous tissue is left behind. It is included in pathology report.

Ohh okay so not during the surgery, they look at the pathology result. Thank you

My surgeon told me margins were clear whilst in recovery. 

They need to look at tissue under microscope but this can be done quite quickly.

Guess need to ask next time. There is a lump under the arm not sure if that’s normal appeared after surgery

 Never ignore any lump please get it checked out by one of your BCC nurses. It’s always better to be safe.
