Here's a new thread for chemo discussions this June, as the existing threads were getting a little long.
Please do let us know if you have any other threads you think would be useful to link here.
They don’t look too bad. I was told to moisturise them so I use hand cream and cuticle oil.
My partner lives in wales and I’m in Bristol. He works 14 hour days in a people facing job. I’m living with my elderly parents as they take me to my appointments. It’s to far for me to drive myself especially with my chemo brain at the mo. With covid out there my oncologist said I have to isolate as much as possible even with having both jabs. He told me COVID will likely set me back in treatment so I’m not risking it. I’m waiting for a decent days weather and my partner will come over on his day off. Am I being too cautious?
My eyes and nose run all the time. I was going to ask the nurses tomorrow if there is anything I can take for it.

Oh Kas, that must be tough to be apart so much. Pleased your parents can take you though. I couldn't have driven myself as always too wobbly both going in and coming out. We all have to be cautious...I walk out with friends but have avoided inside visitors. You must do what feels comfortable and safe for you.
My eyes and nose run constantly. Hanky for the nose.. The eye drops have really helped the eyes. Might be worth a try?
Good luck and hang on in there you'll get through.

They look okay Iblodwin

I think the healthy bit at the bottom is the new unaffected nail growing out

Thanks... That's helpful. Think my nails are heading the same general way but with luck the new growth will grow out without any overall loss of the nail. My photo doesn't show how uneven mine are, but I'm conscious of it as they feel different. But think I've been lucky overall. As you said... Those undergoing chemo... It's worth giving your nails a bit of TLC along the way.
LOL... I've never spent so much on 'cosmetics' in my life! All these creams and potions... But at least it's a way of being positively proactive!
Hi Denise
yeh fingernails are awful my thumb nail snapped off weeks ago it was sore for a while but has now started to grow back in do you find you have no power in your fingers because your nails are so week. Mines are white at the top I keep them covered in nail polish and do them once a week.

Hi Anne,
Hope you’re gradually feeling stronger?
yes it’s hard to do things when your nails are painful isn’t it. I keep nail polish on mine as well to help protect them and redo every 7/8 days.
I’ve still got some neuropathy as well. Who knew nails would be such an issue

That's interesting about painting your nails to protect them, I was worried the remover might weaken them. Before "all this" I had mine done with gel polish every 3 weeks. I had been thinking of treating myself to a manicure sometime soon using regular polish instead of gel as my nails are a bit yellow.

Hi all
earlier in the thread someone mentioned products to encourage eyebrow and eyelash regrowth - can anyone remember them please.
I had held on to some of my eyebrows but yesterday noticed that there was now very very little left and thought with only one chemo left perhaps it was time to encourage there return.
ps my nails have got loads of ridges and are very tender too, I am using the poly balm for them and keeping my fingers crossed.

I read nail polish can interact with the chemo so I only use nail creams and cuticle oil to protect them. When treatment is over I’m going to it some nice gels on them.
Next lot of treatment today.
I think my eyebrows are starting to get thinner when I looked this morning. If there is anything to help them grow back that would be great.
