Hello everyone,

I'm Steph from the Community team, I hope you don't mind me posting here.

We've been asked to create a new thread for chemo discussions this April, as the existing threads were getting a little long.

  • If you're looking for earlier discussions, you can find them in the Feb/Mar thread here.

  • You can find the chemo aids shopping list thread, created by members of the Community here.

Please do let us know if you have any other threads you think would be useful to link here.

  • Hi

thats exactly where I’m getting the pains on my scars and I had my MSIR early December must be the stuff doing its stuff. I looked after my grandson on a Thursday & Friday and in winter he stayed with us on a Thursday night. At the start of Covid he got so upset when we did face time that we had to stop it. They only live 10mins away so my son brings him to see me when I’m in my second week and he’s getting better at going home. Hopefully baby will come at the end of next week so I can see him.

    Take care

Hi all just to say i got pains in that area when first went on the Pacitaxol too think its similar to the doxetaxol. I also had surgery end of last year  Clearly a common problem. I think these taxols find any vulnerable spot in your body and cause pain. My calf is vulnerable from an old tennis injury and that has flared up inspite of the fact i have been doing calf raisers on the stair to strengthen it all winter.

Oh well lovely day for relaxing  in the garden.

  • That would kinda of make sense as on top of the surgery scar pains I had pneumonia a couple of years ago and an arthroscopy on my right knee and all areas had twinges/pain for my entire injection time span. Do you think the injections on top of the Docetaxel makes it more obvious or worse?
Not unbearable but did need pain relief after the first two days once I started injections.
our granddaughter loves FaceTime and we get a gymnastic performance or a playtime dialogue as she’s a bit older, her brother just plays away with his toys and blows kisses.

Anyone else getting headaches as well as the nose running/bleeding problems See no evil

Hi Denise, I was getting headaches, in evenings & first thing in morning but I increased my fluids and it went away. I must of been dehydrated.  I get runny nose too. When I’m moving around or outside. Mine hasn’t been bloody.

  • Hi Dclem4, I get the runny nose/ nose bleed problems, runs with no warning ... it’s the diarea that’s the worse for me at the moment, could I ask what you take for it, the hospital gave me Loperamide, but doing no good at the moment.

  • Hi So sorry to hear you’ve been having bowel issues, so far I haven’t had diahorrhea just constipation even with the Docetaxel but my BCN told me if it happened to take 2 Imodium (I think that’s loperamide) after 1st time then 1 after every loose motion till it stopped, is that what you’ve been told? Have you contacted your team helpline for advice what to do as dehydration is a problem when we are on chemo? That’s so debilitating as you can’t go anywhere far from a loo, hoping it settles soon for you Pray tone2

  • Hi  it’s an all day headache around my eyes, forehead and sinus area, i drink loads so it’s not dehydration, I think it might be to do with the nasal issues as I find it hard to breathe through my nose and my face feels tender around the headache area? Apart from that I’m on my good period before #5 on 28th.
    How are you feeling today?

  • Thank you, Dr told me to take one after each episode, just took 2, then will take one after each time...see how it goes today, I’ll call them if no better later.

I see your next chemo is the 28th, mine is the 30th no 6, wishing the days away x

    Hi all,

Hope you’re doing well and coping as best you can. Just wondering which day you find the most difficult after treatments? I’m day five now and I’m definitely coping better this time than the first round, but today is hard. Thankfully I haven’t had constipation pain and things are starting to move, I just feel shattered and a bit queasy. I reckon days 4-6 are the hardest going so far.

Hugs to anyone else getting through the rough days.

  • Hi ruby

Day 4 for me and I feel shattered not doing much except lying around. This is my first docetaxel twinges and pains in scar area of MS although co-codomal dealing with it. Looking forward to better days

    take care
