Hi I’m new & always suffered from breast cysts that get drained however thought this appointment on Tuesday would be the same but I was wrong , they took ( I think 8 ) clips / biopsy and then back to consultant who said cancer is in the breast and issues with lymph nodes - waiting now for ct scan & 2 weeks wait, my sister passed away 4 years ago, breast cancer, I’m so scared & can’t stop my hands from shaking, I was only at the hospital in June for mammogram  & back again in nov for another drain, i can’t help thinking the worst , my body is aching, could this be worry pains

  • Hi Ttg welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear how confused and upset that you are and little wonder with all that going on for you.

This could be an early Breast Cancer its unusual for the Mammogram not to pick up the Cancer unless it has been hidden by any cysts that are there and the biopsies have confirmed that Cancer is there now and this may be in one of the cysts.

I can understand that you will be scared especially with what happened to your sister. However, there is no reason to expect that if this has been caught early it can be treated and dealt with very successfully. This time waiting is the worst as the time seems to drag so try to keep yourself busy and STAY OFF GOOGLE it is often unreliable and not specific enough for what you need and can leave you feeling more scared.

I'm not surprised that you are aching I imagine that having had 8 biopsies taken will have left you feeling achy and sore and yes this could be worry pains and you will not be alone in this waiting period to imagine that every ache and pain is something sinister which 99.99 % of the time it isn't.

Sending some hugs your way for now.xxxx
