Hi there, I’m Jana.
got my diagnosis about a month ago. 3cm tumour estrogen positive. Initially, I was scheduled for a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Although I’m fit and healthy, I’m 78 years ,so apparently, I can’t have chemotherapy nor can I have reconstruction using tissue from elsewhere on my body.I’m a 36DD, and my surgeon did think I could have mammoplasty. But , latest MRI has shown up a tiny further cancer, lurking just below the big one .. I’m probably looking at having to have a mastectomy. I’d be interested in peoples experiences of both a breast implant and a prosthesis. Neither are very appealing… many thanks Jana

Hi Jana,
I recently had a mastectomy and went straight for no implant and going flat. I’m 69 and working so I just went for the quickest option to be able to recover quickly and get on with my life. I’m still adjusting but don’t regret anything, I am waiting for my prosthesis measured last week.
Hope all goes well x
