Hi, looking for support and advice for looking after elderly mum about to start Paclitaxel and Trastuzam. Thank you so much x
Hi Moggy 123 welcome to the forum. I assume that you mean about keeping any infection at bay or what to do for any symptoms that develop for your mum?
I wonder if you may like to give the Macmillan Line a call and have a chat with one of Nurses there as they may be able to tell you what to look out for and what to do if any of the symptoms develop if that's of any help?.

Hi
Welcome to the online community - I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. It can be difficult supporting family through this so I hope you are looking after yourself as well.
Your mum's chemo unit should be able to give your mum and you advice about looking after her - there is some general information on Paclitaxel and Trastuzumab on the main Macmillan site, but you may be wanting more personal experiences and hopefully some people will be along soon to share those with you. I had a different regime so can't help with that, I'm afraid.
Macmillan is here for everyone affected by cancer so that includes you. You are welcome to use any of the services - Granny59 mentioned the helpline and we also have a group for Family and friends here on the forum if you ever feel you need some support with that. You are more than welcome in this group, too and we'll support you as much as you need.
Hope some others come along soon and wishing your mum well
