Just saying hello at the moment.

  • Hi Kingsman01,  very sorry that you find yourself needing to be on this website.  When and if you feel like it feel free to post a bit more about yourself and what you are going through.

Wishing you all the best with whatever you are going through.

    x

  • Thanks for the kind words.

My wife was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in December. It is also in her hips and spine, the prognosis given is 2 years, which we are slowly coming to terms with.

Are there any people in this group that have had the same kind of condition as my wife and survived past the 2 years?

We had one doctor tell us it can be managed for years to come and then we got told a prognosis of 2 years.

  • Hi Kingsman01,  I am so sorry, it must be a very scary and difficult time for you both.

I looked around the website and there is a secondary breast cancer forum you could try, the link should be https://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_types/breast-secondary-cancer-forum

There are also other forums that might benefit you like for people caring for a loved one - this one is under cancer experiences.  There are probably one or more others under cancer experiences that you might benefit from, have a look around and see if any of them seem suitable.

If different doctors are giving you conflicting information I would go back to them and push for more information.

Wishing you both all the best x

  • Thanks for the information Godwilling, I've joined some other groups now on here and I am reading some really positive stories and learning different ways to look at the situation that my wife and I are in.

  • I'm so glad Kingsman01.  There is always hope and reading the positive stories makes a huge difference.  I believe that if you believe you can get through something it increases your chances and improves your quality of life.
