Hi
I have been diagnosed with grade 2 invasive breast cancer with 1 lymph node.
Had first dose of 2 targeted hormone therapy. Then they put up docetaxel which i reacted badly to so had to be stopped, had first dose of carbotaxel which was fine. Having 6 cycles before surgery, breast surgeon hoping to lumpectomy instead of mastectomy.
I'm just worried that not being able to have docetaxel will have negative repercussions, ive got a telephone call with my oncologist on the 17th December so maybe he will replace it with another chemo treatment. I hooe so xx

I had a bad reaction to the second of my chemo drugs so just had more of the first and it did the job just fine, still all clear in scans. Diagnosis similar to yours - see profile.
Good luck with rest of chemo and surgery too.

Hi, glad you have a reply already as I was going to if you hadn’t (sorry that’s a dreadful sentence!)
just to make you aware, there’s a monthly chemo thread in the ‘questions about diagnosis and treatments’ sub-group, do feel free to have a read and post there too!
Hope all goes well
Hugs xxx

Paclitaxel is another taxane, and it is much more manageable as it can be given weekly. It's often given to women with underlying health conditions or the elderly. It might be worth asking about that? X
