Hi All

i just wondered if anyone diagnosed with breast cancer had pain in the affected breast prior to being diagnosed?

my left breast has been extremely painful, I was blaming hormones but since having my mammogram they found a lump. The lady doing the ultrasound was convinced it was a cyst but when they tried to drain it nothing came out. So they have taken 3 biopsies and I’m now waiting.

she kept saying during the procedure that she’s not worried but it was just a precaution. Of course I’d be lying if I said I’m not worried. But everything you read about breast cancer seems to indicate that pain is not a symptom! I don’t understand why this left breast is so painful, I was hoping it was a cyst Sweat

Also been pre warned that results are taking longer to come in than usual so I may have to wait a week longer than usual for my results but I’m scheduled to go in next Thursday.

I just wondered what to expect and again flummoxed by this pain, it makes me feel like I want to just get rid of my breast it’s horrid and makes me feel quite nauseous at times.

thanks for reading..

  • Hi Ange welcome to the forum and so sorry to hear how worried that you are. Its difficult to say as some people do have pain and discover a lump as a result and others don't and have no lump palpable so there is no hard and fast rules unfortunately which I know will be of little help for you right now.

You wouldn't be normal or human if you weren't  worried and this could be many things yet before Cancer. Its a sad fact but it looks like a waiting game until those results come back and you and they know exactly what it is you are dealing with. However, of one thing you can be sure you have come to the right place and we will be here for you every step of the way so please do let us know how you get on with those results as we will be thinking of you.

Sending some hugs your way for now.xxxx
