Hi folks, I’m new to the group. I’m just on my second week of treatment for stage three triple negative breast cancer. Just wanted to say hi and send a smile xx
Hi there Little Wing. Welcome to the "club". Hope you are doing OK? Sounds like you have started on chemo so you will have got past the scary first treatment when you don't know what is going to happen but have probably been feeling rubbish when the side effects kicked in. Hopefully feeling a little better now. I was diagnosed with HER2- in June with a 37mm tumour. Now, after six sessions of chemo every three weeks my tumour has, to all intents and purposes, disappeared. I have my op on Friday to remove the tissue from the tumour site and some sentinel nodes and then it will be radiotherapy, more sessions of Herceptin injections until July and then hormone tablets. I was amazed at how quickly I felt better after the chemo treatment stopped. My hair is growing back slowly (and very grey!) but I feel that, once the op is over, I will be well on the way to getting over this.
Stay strong, listen to your body, look up whatever you need on this site - it's amazing for information and support - and ask the experts. The Breast Cancer and chemo teams are wonderful and there is no question too stupid. You will come through this.
xx
