  1. Quick back story, Was diagnosed in sept 21  (after being misdiagnosed since April 21) mastectomy and SNB (1/3 positive) Nov 21 26mm invasive with a total of 92mm (non ivasive and invasive) was due to start chemo in the Jan 22 but my youngest DD got covid and then so did I, so chemo was deferred until Feb 22. Started chemotherapy last week, having 5FEC-T and then on the 4th cycle I will start Herceptin.
  2. Just really wanted some positive vibes tbh as although yes I know my cancer has a positive outcome at the end of all the treatments (consultant said 98% survival rate for the next 10 years), it is a very scary place to be especially when I have children at home and my partner lives elsewhere, it's harder that I am not allowed to bring anybody with me while I have the chemotherapy due to covid restrictions etc. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok. Thank you for reading x
  • that's great news that the tumor has shrunk.

I have to wait until I have finished chemo to have any scans etc as as far as my surgeon is aware all my cancer was removed during surgery back in Nov last yr. So it's a waiting game for me. I'm due a heart scan next week (still waiting for the appointment to come through) ready to start docetaxel and herceptin. Hopefully my heart is still fine, I mean it's ticking albeit seems faster then normal, even on my last chemo they commented that was a little fast. So will see what happens x

  • Hi Tizzy

I didn't have a scan, the consultant just examined me and could tell from that. My tumour was originally about 4cm and now is about 2.5cm.  I assume that it was easier to tell from a physical examination being a bit on the large size? I have surgery after chemo, then I have radiotherapy and hormone treatment. I will be having docetexal too. I'm not sure if I will be having herceptin.

I felt my heart is ticking faster too. Must definitely be the chemo then. Hopefully yours will be fine, but they sound as if they are watching it carefully anyway, so you should be fine. Good to know that your tumour has gone

    We can do this xx

  • Hi Thumper. That has shrank quite a bit so that's positive.

I am the same Chemo then surgery then Radiotherapy then Herceptin injections for a year. I try and take a step at a time.

Great news too Tizzy thst your cancer has gone.

One day we will all be out the other end.

    Sending good positive vibes xxx

  • Hi Seaside,

My treatment sounds the same as you. FEC, Docatexal & Herceptin ( which starts on Friday ) then remove any cancer thats left and the markers.. I have an ECG in April and CT scan in May.. My lump was 2.4 cm and also in lymph node.. Although I now can't feel the lump so must be working ! Like you I take a day at a time but new drugs is a bit overwhelming.

    Yes great news  Tizzy...

Hope you all had a good weekend.. Our son came for the weekend, not seen him since Feb so was a great tonic..

We are all doing so well !

  • Hi Jebe

Yes our treatment plan is very similar although my 1st 3 are EC not FEC. My lump was 2cms but didn't show in my Lymph nodes but have a non evasive bit too called calcification that they did a biopsy on and it's not cancer but will be taken out when I get my surgery.

I have my MRI scan tomorrow to see if Tumour has shrank any then 3rd Chemo next Tuesday. Is that your cycles finished or does your 4th start on Friday?

Been a bit fed up as had terrible Acidy tummy and indigestion so to phone Doctor in the morning to get meds as Gavisgon not really helping. I found out chocolate irritates it , not that I eat much but had some on Saturday and it made it worse. No easter egg for me.

I am glad you had a good weekend and saw your son. Apart from my tummy I had a good weekend too.

Good luck for Friday and let me know how it goes.

We are getting through this together with light at the end of the tunnel.

  • Hi Tavares

Been thinking of you as know your 1st cycle of chemo was this week.

Sending positive thoughts and hugs that it went okay xxxHeartRainbow

  • Sorry to hear you're indigestion is getting you down. I suffer with that too, think its quite common. Dr has prescribed Ormaprozal and you're right chocolate amongst other things aggravates it. Still who needs chocolate Chocolate barJoyJoy Me !

Hope all went well with your MRI.

Cycle no 4 on Friday, New treatment Docatexal. Tomorrow I have to start taking 8 steroid tablets. More tablets. Oh Joy!

    Still that's another one done.

    Best Wishes

Aw Seaside! I’m v touched you remembered! I have to say it was easy! Injection in leg first, paracetamol next, Docetaxel followed by Carboplatin. So far 4hrs later no effects but loads of anti sick tablets brought home. Have 5 days coming of district nurse injections, 4 of which I’m hoping to do myself! Really hoping your MRI shows huge reduction in tumour x can you Google foods that reduce acid stomach to try and get on top of it? Sending best wishes xxx

  • Oh that's good it went well for you, that's you one down. Just take all the medication you need and you will get through it. I find I have a good 12 days in between where I can do all my normal stuff and make the most of them.

I won't find out if it has shrunk till I see my Oncologist on Tuesday morning before my chemo but fingers crossed. I got Ormaprozal from my doctor which has helped already with acid reflux.

Take care and look after yourself you know we are all here for you.

  • Hi Jebe

Yes I got them from my doctor too so it's helped. Might get a wee easter right enough on Sunday. Lol.

That's you nearly 3/4 of the way there.

Do you take the steroids the day before your chemo? Hopefully you will have no bother with the docetaxol.

Mri scan was straightforward but won't know anything till Tuesday.

Best of luck for Friday and let us know how it goes.

Sending positive vibes and lots of hugs xxHeartRainbow
