Hi All,
I’m due to start Kadcyla next month.
I’ve had chemotherapy, lumpectomy and and recently finished radiotherapy.
Just wanted to ask how the side effects are if anyone is on Kadcyla?
Hi, hope you don't mind me joining your group.
I have had 2 cycles of Kadcyla out of 14 and I am finding that the first 8 days after infusion are the worst, I suffer diarrhoea, some nausea, hot flushes, fatigue, dry mouth, achy bones, I feel as though I have aged 20 years since starting Kadcyla. Reading through some posts on here has given me hope that I can complete the treatment How is everyone doing ? How many cycles have you had? What are your SE (if any)
Hi Kj6
hello !
Today is my 13th infusion. Last one in 3 mns. I’m tired of it all now and desperate to finish. I didn’t have much of your side effects though maybe just tiredness.
Im wondering also if my joint and muscle pains are effects of it as well as my letrozole. Desperate to finish to see if my pains get less.
keep going, it gets easier for you soon hopefully xx
Well done on completing 13 cycles
My Kadcyla is currently on hold until I complete 15 cycles of radiotherapy currently on number 8. 3rd Kadcyla beginning of June.
It’s a tiring mountain to climb but one I fully intend to get to the top of xx
Thank you for replying
Well done - giving me inspiration - about to have radiotherapy and then Kadcyla in July - best to you all
Hi Camino girl,
I am on cycle 8/15 of radiotherapy and I have had no issues/SE. Moisturise twice a day and drink plenty of water. When does your radiotherapy start?
Hi KJ6, I'm not too much further ahead than you as I've only had 4 with no 5 looming on Monday. I've found cycles 3 & 4 much easier than 1 & 2 and I'm feeling much more optimistic about coping with more. I've looked back on this thread and can see that I'd also said that I'd felt I'd aged 20 years in 2 weeks after the first kadcyla but that's really not the case now, I think I'm getting close to my actual age My key side effect is peripheral neuropathy but even that is much better now. I'm on a 75% dose. Hope things improve for you, xx
Hi,
My 3rd cycle is 8th June, 2 weeks after radiotherapy finishes so I am expecting to feel crappy ️ I am hopeful that the more cycles I have the less the SE
.
I am so glad I have come across this forum, I have felt so alone on Kadcyla there doesn’t seem that many people on it ( or is it just me not looking in the right forums)
Hi Robstar,
I think that we are so focused on the disease and the “what ifs” that we forget the impact it has on our mental health.
Have you discussed your feelings with your care team ?
where are you up to in your treatment ?
