Hi, I was diagnosed in 2017, had chemo, therapeutic mammoplasty and then radiotherapy and have been ok since. I went for for my annual mammogram last week and since then, I’ve been getting a vibrating feeling in my breast. It’s increasing in frequency and feels almost as if it’s receiving text messages on silent! There’s no pain but it’s now happening every couple of minutes.

I just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar?

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

That does sound like a very odd sensation!

I'm just 'bumping' your post as I can see that it hasn't had any replies yet.

If it doesn't settle down then why don't you give your BCNS a quick call to chat it over with her.

  • Hi  as strange as this may sound, I know exactly what you mean. I used to get this feeling periodically. I went to my GP with it and I think she thought I was crazy! I have since had breast cancer but actually the feeling was in a different part of the breast and my personal feeling is that it was not related. I have had a mastectomy on that side now. I did get the feeling briefly on the other side and I think it was in fact shortly after mammogram. Those mammograms are fairly brutal so perhaps it is the tissue complaining afterwards!?? My GP thought perhaps it was muscle twitching in the chest wall, but she didn't really know. I think if it doesn't settle, ask your BCN about it. I just wanted to reply to let you know that you are not alone. x
