I’m waiting for a date for surgery does anyone know how long it takes to be notified of a date following diagnosis? I was informed on the 14 August. The waiting is difficult I just want to get started with treatment
Hi , Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I was diagnosed at the beginning of July and got the date of my surgery within 2 weeks of being diagnosed. Due to Covid I had to isolate for 2 weeks prior to surgery but had my surgery 4 weeks from the date I was diagnosed. The first 2 weeks went by in a blur as I was still trying to wrap my head around it but the 2 weeks of isolation were difficult as I just wanted it over with. Do you know if you have to isolate prior to surgery? Might be worth contacting your breast care nurse as she might be able to give you some idea of when you should expect a date for your surgery. So sorry to hear, I was diagnosed 12 March and got surgery 15 April, there was no pre isolation then, but I'm a nurse and my hospital and nearby ones require 2 week isolation before operations now , good luck x I know all I wanted to do was get it out, its perfectly normal x
i was diagnosed on 13th August. (Before my biopsy confirmed my diagnosis) officially confirmed 20th August. Pre-op was meant to happen today, but asked for it to be rescheduled, as HER2 is not back, get results tomorrow. (If I’m HER2 positive, it’s chemo before op) but received operation date for 2 weeks time this afternoon. And I have no idea if it’s going ahead.
My letter states to be very Covid aware for 2 weeks prior to operation. Covid test 3 days before and to self isolated immediately after Covid test.
fingers crossed it comes soon. The wait is awful xxx
