Hi,

I am 22 and have just been told I have phyllodes tumour. From what I have read if left I can become cancer. I am just worried as I noticed the lump, now diagnosed as tumour back in February 2019 when I was 20 but if was left as the hospital didn’t do biopsy because of my age.

I went back to hospital 3 weeks as the lump has grown and I start to have a numbing pain in my breast the hospital agreed to remove it but upon the ultrasound found it had grown “rapidly” (I am now terrified of that word) and conducted a biopsy which resulted in the tumour diagnostic.

i am now in isolation until my operation in two weeks time hopefully Fingers crossed and just wondering if anyone has any insight or helpful words.

thanks you,

    Hi

Warm welcome to the group, although we don't like seeing so many people needing to find us :-/

22 is a young age to be given this news, hopefully the surgery results will find your tumour although fast growing to be benign and that is all the treatment you will need.  Unfortunately for some cancer cells are found within it and you may need radiotherapy as well to lower the risk of  recurrence.

There is more information about Phyllodes Tumours here (link) you can check out - there has been a few ladies here with Phyllodes but it is an uncommon type of tumour.

Sorry you had to wait so long for a reply, it is unusual to not get replies but some messages slip off the activity page; this should 'bump' your message so hopefully you will get more 'welcomes'

Hope this is of some help for now - Take care, G n' J
