  • Hi, Glad you are looking for the good things and that the lump in your armpit seems flatter and that the breast pain is subsiding.Hope you aren't suffering with the heat- we sat in the shade having a chat with our daughter this afternoon(socially distanced of course)- it was good to catch up with her news.I hope you have a good week end too. Hugs

  • Hi Kwissy,

Glad you saw your daughter and had a lovely time, you totally deserve it. The weather is okay as I have a fan on. I hope you are okay with this heat which is going to be like this over the weekend.

I was discharged from Velindre about 3 months ago (yay) and now this is has happened. I rang and spoke to my old oncologist's secretary and explained everything and she told me I had to contact my GP. At least I tried.

I worry it could be NHL as a swollen lymph node showed in my scan about 2 and half years ago. Nothing was done at the time as I was okay. I had a scan whenI was the Heath lin 2019 for a bowel obstruction and nothing showed other than the obstruction and scar tissue and my blood tests were fine. I tried to.speak to my GP but she wasn't in and I will phone her on Monday.

Anyway, sorry to bore you. You have enough going on without me rambling.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  • Hi, This is the 3rd time I have tried to post a reply to you , Grr this site!!  Anyway don't be apologising -you have been through a lot and now you have your current worry. You have done the right thing and spoken to your gpand been referred to the breast clinic. Many do not do this so pat yourself on the back for doing so! Of couse you have to wait for your appointment before you find out what is happening - and the time drags I know. In the meantime how is your bedroom revamp coming on?  Take some time for yourself and do things you enjoy normally.Have you looked at any of the other threads on here ? I would recommend the AWAKE thread- it can be serious and frivolous at times too . Sending hugs -hope this finally posts, fingers crossed

  • Hi Kwissy,

I know what you mean about this "new improved" website. It takes me ages.

I have been doing my bedroom slowly. The reason is we are thinking of moving. We live in an apartment near Lakeside and it doesn't have a lift and climbing 5 flights of stairs is hard. When I couldn't walk the ambulance men had to carry me and learning to walk and doing 5 flights was hard. We should have moved then but then.mum became ill with her heart and lungs ,.so it went on the back-burner. Plus it would be nice to just go out for a walk or jump in the car without all the rigmarole of the stairs.

We are waiting to view a bungalow. My dad and I went there this morning and looked through the windows and it's lovely and we can park our cars.

The weather is hot and my fan is on all of the time. I hope you are okay with this weather.

I am so pleased with how you have gotten on and dealt with the treatment. Yes, a lot of people get scared and the soaps frighten people. I don't like to bother my GP all the time. I know some people do but I don't. I only go under duress. My old urology surgeon use to call me a "bolter".

I have been scaring myself stupid with looking on Dr. Google.

Enjoy the weather and have a lovely weekend.

    Take care and stay safe,

  • Hi , Have got my fingers crossed for you that you get the bungalow you viewed through the windows. It will certainly make all your lives easier.I couldn't even contemplate 5 flights of stairs! Although I seem to have been going up and down our one flight quite a lot recently with all the creaming and exercising!! Still it's all good exercise for me.

Today is still cloudy here but suspect the sun will be out soon and then the temperature will be on the rise again . I'm not a great lover of high temperatures but did enjoy sitting inour garden yesterday evening when the sun had gone round to the front of the house.

Please stop looking at Dr Google most of it is out of date  and just plain wrong !! Be kind to yourself  and leave it alone, please.Sending big but gentle hugs xx

  • Hi Kwissy,

I hope you have kept cool in this warm weather. I am not fussed on the heat either. It makes me feel lethargic and television isn't the greatest at the moment: that sends anyone to sleep.

I haven't look at Dr..Google much today..I mean, we all have some of the symptoms of most things. Like tinnitus = brain tumour, indigestion = stomach cancer,.pain in leg.= bone cancer. It makes one paranoid.

The bungalow is being done up and when it is ready my dad and I will view it. It will be so easy to get in my car and drive not having to think about the five flights of stairs. Saying that, you have been doing your fair share of stair climbing.

Anyway, enjoy your recovery and I am so pleased for you. You deserve it.

    Sending hugs and take care,

  • Hello Eliza,

Just a quick one as not sure where to write this....

I have noticed the monthly 'sticky' is only on for Radiotherapy club - the Chemo 'sticky' is not showing - thinking anyone going through either of these may find these two threads very helpful.

    Best Wishes x

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
  • Sorry to raise again but despite best effort ma by myself and others this site is much less user friendly to use !  It's not a matter of us bring techno phones it's cumbersome.  Main issues for me are as grim day:

    1. text too small on mobile phone - iPhone 6s. Byrd I know how to pinch zoom but then I have to constantly scroll to read a post .
    2. Replying to a person is no good !  Just reply to a thread as you miss replies currently as people mix replying to person or original post
    3. Getting it latest post hit & miss
    4. on my mobile I have to log in every time I come on ti the site

i apologise in advance for spelling errors but I'm on my mobile and text small

  • Sadly I doubt if Admin would read this, perhaps bombard them with emails as I do, instead?

But I so agree, this site was such a backward step and I still get booted off regularly (they said it should be better after the ‘down time’ a couple of weeks back)
