Not sure where best to post this - general breast cancer, breast cancer under 50 or triple negative.I finished active treatment in January this year, having had 23 lots of radiotherapy and 15 lots of chemo ending in November 2019. I know that bone pain is common when having Taxol chemo, but the last few weeks I have been in a lot of pain. I had a bone scan this Monday and am still waiting for the results. I'm scared that the cancer has come back, I can't be in this much pain for no reason and my mind always reverts back to the obvious.

  • Hi

I see you post has slipped to the second page, so I am giving it a boost back to page one.  I haven't had chemo, so I'm not much help (sorry),

I guess everyone's experience will be different and I do hope that the results of the bone scan come back ok and that it is 'just' a result of the chemo you have endured.

It's not too long since you have finished chemo and radiotherapy.  Are you on any ER+ reducing tablets as well?  If so, then I know that these can cause major aches in joints, muscles, bones etc. to some people. (but not to others as I've been fine on mine) but I don't know about chemo. but clearly some people do experience side effects an awful lot worse than others.

I am hoping someone who has had to go through Taxol chemo can give you their experience.

    Hi Lesley

Thank you for your reply. I'm not on any medication at the minute, only supplements. I spoke to a macmillan nurse today who advised that my scan has come back with no signs of bone mets - I'm so relieved! . x

  • HI

That is such good news, I'm so pleased for you.  It sounds like it's 'just' the after effects of your treatment then.

I hope they've given you some general advice how to cope with the pain/mitigate it.

    Kindest wishes,
