Hi everyone. I have so many questions buzzing around my head and feeling a bit lost at the mo. I got diagnosed 3 days ago and now just waiting for my op in 3 weeks time. I have to have a breast MRI next week and then meeting my surgeon to discuss the surgery and then treatment. I just don’t know how far ahead to plan. When/should I shave my hair off? When to buy a hat etc. x

  • Hi ,

you’re most likely still in a flat spin, having a cancer diagnosis is a total shock to the system, so don’t do anything drastic like shaving off your hair! In any case till all results are back you won’t yet know all your treatment. (I avoided both chemo and radiotherapy, just on an oestrogen busting med for 5 years!)

a good idea is to have some sort of journal, write your questions and ask your team, take it to appointments so you don’t forget anything! (no question is too daft, by the way!)

if you’re finding it hard to sleep and can cope with a screen, then the ‘AWAKE....’ thread on this group  can help, all sorts of things get posted there at all hours of day and night!

    Hugs xxx

    Hi Moomy.

thank you. I must Admit, questions about shaving my hair have already been going through my head. When’s the right time? Should I cut my hair short now to get used to it short before it starts to fall out and I need to shave it etc.

Im trying to find a local group I can go to to meet people etc. Although I have only told a couple of people from work, they are very lovely but already I feel like I just wanna be on my own. I don’t wanna push them away completely but I’m worried they will make me talk when I don’t want to xx
