Anyone else worried about having a masectomy with COVID around? As anyone had surgery in the lockdown?

    Hi,

I had a masectomy on the 20th April and healing well. Got the Covid nose and throat swabs 2 days prior to surgery. I was day surgery. They gave me a softie prosthesis on the day of surgery so had brought in a bra to measure what size I would need. At the moment wearing the 2 pack from  Asda front fastening post surgery bra £16. I’m a 32E so got medium. Also got the Maisie bra by Royce £32. Also my sister made me some knitted knockers. Good luck with your surgery

Had my mastectomy 30 Apr, doing fine.  Was day surgery at the local Spire hospital that my nhs trust has been given for cancer treatments.

Covid test done 2 days before that, results come back in 24 hrs so I figured they would have called to cancel if not OK!

day surgery - was first on the list and back home by 8pm. Had drain in for 7 days, so did have to hv community nurses in to change bottle and remove drain.

I had partial mastectomy with reconstruction 3 days ago. Had to stay in overnight as was a PM surgery in the end. Done at private hospital under nhs. Covid swab 2 days before and got results same day by text . No visitors and all.nurses wearing ppe when attending to patients.  Scary but bearable
