Hi.
I have recently finished radiotherapy after lumpectomy for DCIS.
Started taking Tamoxifen around 10 weeks ago .
I am suffering from occasional vaginal bleeding/spotting and have a GP appointment tomorrow for an examination.
I have previously had a full hysterectomy (I do still have one ovary) and am anxious as to why I would be bleeding .
Has anyone suffered the same - I did have some itching but this has since stopped using a cream from the pharmacy.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I haven't experienced the same as you but noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet. By replying to you it will bump your post back to the top of the first page where it'll be more easily seen.
Do come back and let us know how your appointment with your GP went yesterday.

hello and welcome. I'm an ancient (75) and was given choice of tamoxifen or anastrozole. I chose tamoxifen because of other concurrent problems.
I have had very slight vaginal discharge which I would have never have given a second thought pre menopause it's just different from the last 27 years!! I did have some post menopausal bleeding and had investigations years ago but all OK.
Have had a few hot flushes but nothing too awful. Do let us know how you got on with your consultation, I know bleeding is a side effect of tamoxifen but don't know what they do about it
Hello there,
i have today been declared cancer free and no need for further treatments after my mastectomy on Dec 5th. I am being prescribed Arimidex (anastrrozole) for hormone therapy but reading about side effects on line is freaking me out. Can anyone reassure me please ? Thanks in advance.
I have been taking Letrozole for a year....a few hot and, bizarrely cold flushes, disruption to my sleep, a bit of weight gain but mainly, I have suffered from aching feet and tired legs. Has it stopped me doing anything? No....is it irritating...Yes....but the symptoms have been more annoying rather than life changing. Always, in the back of my mind, is that these drugs are proven to reduce recurrence and, being labelled high risk, I will do anything to help. I know everyone is different, so I wish you good luck and minimal side effects!
Hi
i have been taking letrozole since July 2019, yes have hot flushes, have gained quite a bit of weight and joints are aching but nothing unbearable. The way I look at it is if letrozole keeps the cancer away I can live with the side effects. You may not get side effects, everyone is different. Glad you have had good news, I was in your position in July last year, such a relief, all the best
Rita
