Question about a insatiable craving when i had cancer.

Hi All, I didnt know which group to post in as I had womb Cancer and Breast Cancer at the same time.

Before I was diagnosed I had an extreme craving for Ice Slushies. I was eating 5-6 a day ! I started buying my own syrups, making my own and freezing dozens of them at a time so I always had them available. Long story short. As soon as my Cancers were treated. The craving completely went ! I'm not anaemic which I know can cause cravings for ice etc. However the cravings returned about 6 weeks ago.Im worried there may be a link ? I'm up for my 1st 6 mth mammogram on 31st Dec. I had a lumpectomy,didnt have clear margins but assumed 25 Radiotherapy sessions would sort out the margins and was on Letrozole( been giving a holiday from it ) My surgery was in April 2019. Is there a chance that Breast Cancer could come back so soon ? These cravings coming back with a vengeance make me worry now !

Hiya,

I cannot answer this. But what I wanted to say is that so much is physiological. This year by the time of my dx I noticed so many things - back ache, boob ache - and this scared me. However it seemed to disapaar after a few weeks. Just get in touch with bcn to get it sorted.

Thanks for the reply Gay. It could be psychological. I had the intensive cravings for a year. My GP dismissed all my womb Cancer symptoms for a year. I had my full hysterectomy in Jan, still had the cravings because I still had Breast Cancer. Had my Lumpectomy, 2 lymph nodes which were clear and the Slushy cravings gone in days. Finished my 25 Radiotherapy in July.The craving returned about 6 weeks ago. Will mention it at my mammogram on Tues.
