I’ve just had my third FEC and my next chemo will be T. I’ve been given dexamethasone to take beforehand and on the morning and I’ve just read the enclosed leaflet. It’s scared me ssooooo much. Am I right to be scared or are they just covering their backsides by telling me all the side affects. Can anyone help put my mind at rest?
Didn't you have it with the FEC? I had 12mg on day 1 and 8mg each day for the next 3 days with EC. It does make you hungry and not sleep well, and I had palpitations with it too. I think that in the scheme of things it isn't the worst medicine we're given. The E was my worry, followed by the paclitaxel, which wasn't nearly a bad as i though, and was well monitored for side effects. Xxx
Aah I’ve just looked. I’ve only had steroids this time with my FEC as I asked why everyone else was prescribed it and I wasn’t. There was no leaflet with them so I didn’t realise they were the same thing I’d been given for the T. I’m such a plonker! Lol I’ve been prescribed three tablets once a day for two days (2mg tablets) after FEC. For T I’m due to have four tablets twice a day, the day before and four tablets on the morning of the T. X
Are you having weekly or fortnightly T? Is interesting the different regines to story the chemo. I had nothing the day before, 4mg steroids and a tablet for my tummy as well as 10mg IV Piriton an hour before chemo. and I took some Piriton the next day, but nothing else. Good luck! Xxx
