Hi all

I have been reading all your posts. I have not posted anything as I have not been great with side effects of Fec and to be honest been very emotional. I am very positive but I am petrified of starting the next stage doxcetaxel which is due you start next week.

I have so been trying  to support my children as my 11  year old son is still struggling to the point he does not want to go go school especially when I am bad. Has anyone any advice for this next stage. I am aware side effects differ from person to person but any preventive measures I can put in place.

  • Hi

I'm sorry to hear how you've been feeling recently. I can't share any experiences with you, as I haven't had this treatment, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the page where it'll hopefully be seen by someone with the right experience.

I hope you don't experience any side effects with your next stage of treatment.

Thank you Latchbrook that is very thoughtful. I understand that there are others that require support More-so than me and I have read others views on other posts. I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness. Due to my side effects I don’t post that frequently but I do read most posts and I do think of everyone on here. I’m at the hospital tomorrow to see when my nxt stage starts. In addition I will also discuss these fact that they are sending me letters with some incorrect information on and  as they already missed my diagnosis a year ago I am not happy and feel that all facts about each individual needs to be read prior to seeing them and sending letters out.

On a positive note I have managed to put the Xmas decorations up.

    Take care

  • I'm sorry to hear that the hospital is sending out letters to you with incorrect information . This is certainly not something you need and also very unprofessional on the part of the hospital.

Do come back and let us know how you get on at the hospital tomorrow and I'm glad that you've got the Christmas decorations up! I only put mine up yesterday but I don't like to put them up too early otherwise I've got fed up with them before we even reach Christmas day.

    Hi Latchbrook

Believe it or not the registrar is no longer at the hospital and I was not the only person. However, consultant has rectified everything and my lump has disappeared. Prognosis also is good  despite 6 lymphnodes having macromastisis. Apparently I'm still classed as early stage.

  • hi BB

I've heard that FEC can cause these feelings and with luck you might find it a little easier from that point of view on tax.  I struggled with bone pain, especially my shins but with some slightly better pain relief and some lorazepam I got through it.  Ask your GP for a small prescription since you get them free.

It is hard for the kids, you just have to keep reassuring them you're going to be fine, no matter what it looks like.

I've got to dash out but I'll be around tomorrow if you want to vent about the missed diagnosis.
