I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer grade3, I am finding it very difficult to cope and feeling so scared of the 6 months Chemotherapy treatment.
Dear Mimi
I completely understand . I had my chemo 9 years ago now and am now 100% and living life to the full. I know the treatments for supporting any sickness are even better now . You are on a journey and will need some tools in your bag .Can I suggest you let friends etc cook for and fill your freezer, walk every day and breathe in the lovely fresh air even on cold days . You will no doubt have days of complete tiredness - rest with your radio and audio book, let folk help you , ask for what will bring you peace . oh an an ear thermonmetre -just to take you temperature if your feel rough .it will help the team to know what is going on and if you need further support .But there will be days when you will be good and want to do things - do ! keep up with your normal routines like walking the dog when you can and when you can 't let it go ! it will all pass... truely will. Will keep in touch we are here for you .Marieod
Sorry you’re here. But it’s truly the best place.
The initial shock and waiting for results and treatment plans is the worst bit. By the time you actually get to having treatment you will be glad to get it started so you can get in the road to recovery.
Sending you big hugs and lots of love xx
,
So sorry you find yourself here, but it really is the best place to be.
I felt exactly the same as you at the end of last year, Chemo was looming in the New Year, but I’m 5 months post treatment now and although it really doesn’t seem like it at the time, it does go quite quick.
You don’t say was type of BC you have, but be assured your team will put together the best plan for you. Just take it a step at the time, cross off the chemos as you go. Just try to think about it as one step closer to wellness.
Gentle hugs Tina x x
Dear Marieod
Thank you for your much needed advice, I really will try to get back to living my life but the last few months have been so hard and still waiting to start the treatment! Should be in the next 2 weeks.
Kind regards
Mimi
Dear Tina,
Thank you so much for your kind words, I have a tumour (not sure of correct type name) I’m also not used to posting online & social media so please forgive me for that as I’m trying to navigate around this site. Hopefully I’ll soon get used to it.
Kind regards
Mimi
Thank you so much for your kind words, I am not used to posting online or social media but it is so good to get in touch with people who really understand and have experienced exactly what I’m going through, I really appreciate it.
Kind regards xx

Hi Mimi,
You are more than welcome, we are all in need of a few kind words.
My tumour was ER positive and PR positive, HER2 negative. So it was hormone receptive.
I had Mastectomy, node clearance a few weeks, chemo and radiotherapy and I’m now on Letrozole a anti hormone tablet.
You will soon find your way around I’m sure and there are always people on here to help out.

I have to have 6 months Chemotherapy followed by surgery then Radiotherapy, I was told 12 months in all. I saw the Oncologist on Monday and they will be sending my appointment in the post for 1st treatment in the next 2-3weeks. I am so pleased you are NED and thank you so much for taking the time to write to me.
Kind regards
Mimi
Hi Mimi,
So sorry you find yourself in this situation, seems almost the same as me! I'm due to start chemo soon, then surgery and possibly radiotherapy. Terrified but trying really hard to stay positive.
You'll get the hand of posting etc I'm sure, and this group has been such a great support for me over the last month or so. I'm sure it will help you too. Every month there is a chemotherapy thread re started for that month which has top tips at the top then you can post, ask questions etc
The main thing which is many people say in different ways is that the waiting is the worst and that even though treatment is hard something is happening which helps. Theres no denying this is a crap road to walk but there will be many people to help you.
Take care and hugs xxx
