I’ve been on Exemestane for 6 weeks, was previously on a Letrozole but with awful bone pain, and this appears to be kinder to my joints.
I’ve suffered with Vaginal dryness the past 2 years and was wondering if anyone else has this problem? If so what do you use? Someone said to try Hyalofemme (Hormone free) but I can’t seem to find it at Boots and my boots is awful, no help and no privacy.

Thanks

  • Hi Summer-Rose, I have had this problem for years. I use Replens. It’s hormone free and I get it on prescription. You can also buy it over the counter at Boots or other pharmacies. There are other things you can use too. One is called Yes, and I’ve seen it at my local supermarket. Perhaps someone else can come up with a few other suggestions. Whatever you get though, make sure it’s hormone free. I have seen it said that the ones that have hormones in them are okay to use if you are on aromatise inhibitors but I prefer not to risk it. Hope this helps.

  • Dear

Please ask your GP for a prescription. If you still se your BC nurse they can ask your oncologist too. You would be amazed at their knowledge of all things cancer treatment related . This isn’t a trivial symptom, it’s effecting your quality of life . So see your GP.

  • Since I started TAMOXIFEN I've had the same problem, forcing me through the menopause. The dryness and being itchy is driving me crazy. I went to see my Gp, thinking it was thrush, or other bacterial infection etc. But it's hormonal. He prescribed me a product called Sylk, you just need one to two drops, hormone free. Which is good because I have oestrogen + breast cancer.  It's soothing and relieving. You can also buy over the counter. Little bottle, but goes a long way.

I tried vagasil, canesten, and other creams etc, this one seems to be working for me though.

    Hope this helps.
