I'm sorry if this isn't the right place but I cannot find anything at all online or support groups on facebook etc.

I was diagnosed with a benign breast condition. I have had to have multiple surgeries with the most recent being in october. I didnt bruise or swell etc after the lumps were removed. So fast forward 6 weeks, and I now how a breast that is dimpled, looks like orange peel, theres a hefty sized lump in my arm put, my breast is burning hot and swollen to the point my nipple is being pulled in. My surgeon and gp are having none of it. They tell you to look out for changes, as far as I can see I'm showing signs of all the red flags but neither my surgeon or gp are taking me seriously.

I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced the same? I'm sorry if this isnt the best place to ask but I am terrified , it runs in my family, I have 2 very young children, I suffer terrible with anxiety. This week alone I've dropped a dress size from what I presume is the stress. I hope somebody can share a similar experience? Help me put my mind at rest. I am not even slightly convinced what's going on are post surgical changes. My breast was 'normal' until about 2 weeks ago.

thanks

  • So sorry you are feeling stressed....I am sorry but I can’t put your mind at rest....only having your concerns listened to will do that..

My advice would be to go back to your gp....if you are worried then they should listen. Be as forceful as you feel comfortable with...explain the changes and why you are concerned. It is not as though you are naïve about your breasts and what is your normal. Is there a doctor you feel will listen? Can you speak to a nurse you know? Maybe speak to the Macmillan helpline....they may be able to offer guidance...

Others may be able to give other advice.....

    Just keep us posted....
