Hi all
I am on day 3 of my last FEC , I have had minimal side effects with the anti sickness and steroids , I have taken through all three cycles. Noticed that my nails are browning in the cuticles though .
I am grateful I have had a relatively good experience to date in comparison to some have heard from close friends, ( they are are on different chemo and to me ), I am a bit worried about the next 3 cycles for me which will be the T part and I have been hearing this is the worst one, Has any one had bad experiences with the T part Taxotere Cycles?
Hello there,
I had three cycles of FEC and three cycles of T. Firstly I had severe pains in my joints.
It didn't start until day two after chemo. I had to get NUPROXEN from my GP and you need
to take the Omeprazole firstly, to line your stomach as Nuproxen is known for affecting the lining
of your stomach. Definitely ask your GP and Oncology nurses for advice. My nurse had
had the same chemo treatment as me and as such recommended this pain relief. Obviously
it affects us all differently, however, the shock of the joint pain was fairly impressive. One
of my nurses told me Hot Water Bottles and paracetamol are your friend but this just was not
strong enough. I also recommend starting the Nuproxen a couple of days BEFORE treatment.
My thoughts are with you.
Tracy
