Hi, I had last chemo on 22nd October and op scheduled for next Monday (25th)...so 4 weeks and 6 days x

  • Thanks

I had my last chemo 21st October, MRI last Monday. Clinic have phoned this morning and said surgeon wants to see me tomorrow to discuss. I panicked and thought it was quite quick but reading your reply things do move fast by the look of it.

I was surprised as I had thought it would be nearer the 6 weeks, probably 1st or 2nd week in December. Saying that my surgeon said I would get a letter to confirm which I haven't received yet. I'll ask when I go to chemo unit for my Herceptin tomorrow. I have my pre-op assessment on Thursday.

  • Hi Elsie

I had my last chemo on 5th November & my surgery is 4th December, had my pre-op last week.

Hi ...how did it go today?...did you get an op date?

Hi Deb ...long time, no see...hope you're coming out the other side of chemo side effects...I've only been feeling 'normal' the last few days and managed to have a Herceptin infusion today without any drama lol.

Looks like there's a few of us in the post chemo/pre op phase x

  • Hi thanks for the replies.

I've had the best news today! Met with the surgeon re my mri results. I'm over the moon to let you know that the chemo has done its job and got rid of all the cancer!

I was so convinced it was still there as I still have a lump but the lump is just an empty shell with no visible cancer in it. Booked in for lumpectomy 18/12 to remove it and they will test just to make sure no cells are active and also remove 3 or 4 lymph nodes to check those aswell. I'm so happy, best outcome I could have asked for from today Grin

    Hi Elsie77,

That's fab. I love hearing good news. Great outcome. So happy for you. My CT scan was clear last month too. Still can't believe it. Take care of yourself, you're nearly there Hearts️

That's fab !...I had a complete response to chemo too...it's a good feeling. Pity they're making you wait a wee bit longer for op but I'm sure at this time of year it will fly in. My breast care nurse returned my call this morning and said that my op is still scheduled for Monday as long as my pre op is ok tomorrow.

    Hi Elsie77,

Good luck with your op. I found mine a piece of cake compared to Chemo. And I 3 surgeries in 3 months. I stayed in overnight after my first two and glad I did. Much better than traveling. You feel so much better 24 hours later. Take it easy and don't do too much too early. Lots of rest is the key.

    Babs hugs Hearts️
