Hi all
Sorry not been in touch for a while. I had my 2nd FEC and a few days later I had the most severe headache that at the time was praying if I could not be cured to take me. Now, I am a positive person and this is this first I have felt this way. My youngest saw me and he cried blaming himself for my cancer. He is ok now. Since I have had a continuous headache but nowhere as severe as that day. I did not suffer with headaches prior to this and feel for those who do. I certainly don't want my headaches to continue either. Has anyone experienced the same and got any advice. Paracetamol does not work.

Hi
ouch! Make sure you tell your team about the intensity of headache.
Im on EC about ten mins from end of every session I have had a intense head pain including sinus and eyes Intake two panadol and sit for extra ten mins til it eases . Usually might get a mild one later .
I used to get migraine but take a preventative to stop them so that may be stopping further headaches for me .
I was told EC does effect sinus etc .
You should ring your unit and report the headaches they hopefully will ask you to go for a quick check . Blood pressure etc . Then tell you best pain relief
Be kind to your self

Thank you Margaret
I have mentioned to the district nurses and the team today and they have told me to discuss with the oncologist on Friday at my appointment. District nurse did all checks apart from blood pressure as can not do on left arm due to lymph node clearance and could not do it on right arm due to PICC line. So not sure where they do BP checks. Sorry to hear you also suffer with headaches I genuinely feel for you. I will ensure I discuss it with the oncologist as I really do not want to suffer. Headaches are so debilitating and its the last thing anyone wants to suffer, especially when we are all going through enough.

Hi
I must admit The big head pain at end of chemo bothers me but nurse stays with me til it passes . Then rest of cyce just mild ones when tired so no prob .
Glad you discussing it there's no need for us to have more discomfort than we have to .

Hi (love that!!), they can take bp on your leg. Do ask, it is sometimes a specialist nurse, but quite an important thing!!
Hope you get some relief from the headaches. I'm wondering whether there is a bp connection as it was so severe.
Hugs xx
Karen
Hi toxophilite,
Thank you, I will mention it on Friday. I have only ever had low BP and never suffered headaches so would a high BP cause headaches. Relief would be great. It would make this treatment more bearable.
How far are you in your treatment?

Hey
Yes, high bp does cause headaches. But whatever the cause, your team does need to make sure there is nothing untoward going on. And they can give you stronger pain relief if need be. Paracetamol and ibuprofen do nothing for me, so I had cocodamol. Still do, for other things.
I'm 3 years NED. So 2 more years of annual checks.

Karen
Hi make sure you tell whoever doing BP that you normally low ..as normal is high for you ( hubby has same issue )
