Hi, does anyone have a list of brands that are parabens free? Some ranges (like Simple) seem to have made part of their range parabens free but not all of it. It's a bit of a pain standing in shops checking labels and trying to decipher them! I'm looking for make-up, cleansing products and moisturiser mainly at the moment. Thanks for your help!!

  • I buy Timotei for shampoo, Dove for shower gel, and Nivea or Santex for aluminium free deodorant.  I noticed Garnier is advertising paraben free products. I haven't  found any own label ones yet but I don't  live in the UK so Sainsbury's  Tesco and Asda might make them.

    Happy Shopping,

  • There's a paraben free Timotei clear coloured shampoo too. I've been using Aveeda baby care hair and body, which doesn't irritate ,y hair like the expensive Paxman (people who make the cold cap) shampoo does.

I have used natural/organic procducts for many years and find that the website "theremustbeabetterway" has products that are not only paraben free but also free of other things that you may wish to avoid putting on or in your body. Unfortunately they don't do a range of EC so will just have suffer that wee beastie for now!

I find a lot of the big brands are just following fashion and not actively making the changes to products that they should have done so but probably haven't in pursuit of profits...

I am currently using the non perfumed laverna products for sensitive skin.

    Good luck X

Thanks everyone, I'd sorted out deo (Sanex), shampoo and conditioner (Herbal Essences) but will check out Garnier for cleansers (thanks ) and that website for make-up and other stuff (thanks ). Will also look at Aveeno. I might pop in to The Body Shop and ask them as another option too. Thanks all.

  • Any of the ranges sold in Holland and Barrett.  They have a wide selection of shampoo, conditioners, shower gels, deodorants, etc.  I love the Dr Organic Rose shower gel.
