On this sunny Sunday  im stage 2TNC  im on 3rd round of chemo  so shocked on how this round as totally floor me. Last session wasn't this bad   as anyone else felt round 3  was worse

  • Good morning....

Unfortunately everyone feels reaction to chemo differently but generally the drug does accumulate so if you feel worse.....this is not unusual.

I suspect you will change the drug used soon and may find the side effects are different but they will also accumulate.Although it isn't a foregone conclusion that you will even have side effects effects. If you do, mention this to your oncologist. There are lots of variables.....weekly doses, 80% of the drug with an extra cycle for example which will help if you feel particularly unwell.

I hope your treatment continues successfully. I had TNBC eleven years ago and with the treatment, however unpleasant at times, all has been clear since.

    Take care.

  • I do remember feeling particularly shaky and utterly poisoned after my third round of E/C chemo. I really thought that I might not be able to force myself to go for the fourth one of those 3 weeks later. The symptoms still lifted in 6 days though and I went for the last one feeling sort of demob happy..

The paclitaxels that followed didn’t make me feel ill and poisoned, though the skin, nail and neuropathy symptoms took longer wear off. After the 7th round of those the dose was reduced to 80% for the remaining 5 to avoid permanent damage as my feet were getting painful.

All the best with the rest of your treatments xx

    1. Thank you for your reply   went to drs  they gave me stronger painkillers.  Which helped  it was wonderfull to hear you have been cancer free for 11 years  gave me a boost  to not let cancer win
  • Afternoon  thank you for reply. Helped a lot hope you are feeling brighter   xxx

  • Thanks, the chemotherapy effects all wore off. No lasting neuropathy pain from the paclitaxel and my rather thick brown toenails grew back fine.
Chemo therapy was finished December 2023.

    All the best xx

  • So happyfor you.     Cancer picks.
