I have had breast cancer twice the second time it was discovered was when I went for my 5th year check up by some freak chance the appointment was made only 7month after the last one.Thankfully I went and it had returned. If I had told hospital I wasn't due for another 5 months things would have been very different.
My dilemma now is I have just had my 5 year mammogram all good. But I feel very vulnerable as I am 72 and will no longer be called for any check ups by the hospital or even the national breast screening service
I am oestrogen and her2 positive
Anne
Good Evening Anne. I am 69 and had my last 5 year mammogram last year. I asked about me having more mammograms after 70 and I was told I could have a mammogram if I requested one. I assumed you need to be referred by your GP.
I would certainly start at my GP and see what they say or ring Macmillan.
Three times! What did I do?
