Hi

(For new readers who may be interested have a look at my profile)

Had an appointment today for follow up after radiotherapy.  The gorgeous consultant (and ladies he is a really handsome man) was very happy with how radiotherapy has gone.  But very concerned about how my mobility is deteriorating and how quickly.  He asked what tests I'd had done and looked at results.   Said I needed an MRI on my back to see what the nerves are doing.   Tried to organise one today but no slots.   Do has decided to admit me.  Home at moment waiting for a call that a bed is free.  Likely to be tonight or tomorrow morning.  In the meantime he is stuffing me with steroids (bye bye sleep).

I am quite happy to go in.  Will hopefully get a whole raft of tests and see a neurologist while I'm there.   Okly downside is it is not my local hospital but where I had op and radiotherapy.   75 mile round trip.  But I can live with that if they can get to bottom of issues and help improve my current situation.

So sending hubby to pack bag soon on readiness.  Better write everything down.....

  • Dear AnnJac,

sorry to read that you’re going in, BUT glad that investigations can all be speeded up as a result!

I really really hope they get to the bottom of what’s happened to you! And fast!

please keep us up to date.....

    lots of love and

    hugs xxx

  • I agree with Moomy, The fastest way to get the tests done by far. The very best of luck and fingers crossed!

  • So sorry you have to go into hospital but at least you will get all the tests done which is good news. Glad you have a nice consultant to look after you.

Take care and all the best for a speedy recovery

  • Dear,

i agree with the other ladies - finally you are being listened to and more so looked after.

You have battled on for so long with all this, you need answers - I’ve worried about your symptoms, but we aren’t doctors, we can sometimes create more worry than is needed or not push when we should!!

This way things will get moving - whilst there please push to see a neurologist - let’s hope they can arrange for you to see one whilst in hospital than waiting on an appointment.

We are all thinking about you and praying they can get you sorted and give you answers Pray tone1Kissing heart

    With Love, Gail xxx

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x

Thank you everyone.  Hospital just called and can't get me in tonight.  The lady will check discharges tomorrow and ring me about lunch time.

I'm thinking of taking a chain and padlock and saying please look after me until you know what is wrong and we have a plan for treatment.

Hubby going away sunday for two nights.  We had a plan for a friend coming round to help but would be better to be safe and looked after.

    I'll keep you all posted.

And yes - mind goes into overdrive.  Been working so hard not to fall into the black pit but sometimes I am clinging on by fingernails.

  • At long last ! Someone is doing the right thing! Lots of love, and good luck xxxx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
