hi everyone, end of June found a lump went to GO referred to breast clinic. Long story short the lump was a cyst but they did find micro calcifications that they were concerned about. Turns out they were right I have Grade 2 invasive Ductual Breast cancer waiting for a partial mastectomy and maybe further treatment. Tbh heads melted lol

  • Hi , and a warm welcome to this online club, none of us would have chosen to join but lots of support and shared experiences, even a few laughhs now and then! Totlly get the 'heads melted' feeling, it's such a shock, especially as what you found was 'just' a cyst, but the worst was lurking there undetected. Join the Grade 2 IDC club, that's what I had, thankfully now all chopped out and main treatment (lumpectomy, sentinel node sampling, radiotherapy) done and dusted. My long term treatment is 'nasty' tabs (Anastrozole) for 5-10 years, but am guessing you are waiting to find out the exact nature of your particular beast, to know what further treatment (if any).

Do keep posting here, others will pop in with their stories and experiences. And ask questions, someone usuually has an answer and no questions are silly here.

    Sending love and hugs, HFxx

  • Hi

You will find this site so helpful, always someone to pop along to help with questions.

Head melted is something we can all agree on when you get diagnosed, its horrendous, I remember thinking my head would explode with the stress of it all. It does get easier with time.

I'm one year on, just, I had IDC Grade 2 and DCIS, they had been watching microcalcifications, unfortunately for me the watching didn't pay off because they became the IDC and DCIS.

I had a Mastectomy and 4 nodes taken, the mastectomy site wasn't that painful, it was the nodes area that was.

Wishing you all the best, let us know how your op goes.

  • Hi I am new to this site but completely understand what you mean by head melting. I was diagnosed in Feb 19 and thought I had a pulled muscle in my arm as never felt a lump. Was referred to breast clinic and was diagnosed with grade 2 hormone and her2 positive bc, my lymph nodes were also positive. I am waiting for a lumpectomy and to have all my lymph nodes under my armpit removed.

I have already had chemotherapy due to it being her2 positive and being in my lymph nodes.

I just wanted to say hi and that it the head melting does get easier with time.
