    Hi Nic nac 26

Welcome to the club no one wants to belong to.

I had my mastectomy and reconstruction in January. I always try to change a negative into a positive. Yes I as shocked when I was diagnosed but  the mastectomy saved my life.  I do wonder that now I had breast cancer it could be lurking elsewhere. But then again there is a good chance that it will not.

I worry less now as I realised that even if I worried it does not change whatever is happening in life.

Hopefully over time you will learn to live with what has been going on in you life. I hope you can.

There are lots of ladies on this site that will give you the support you need. I hope this helps.

    Take care and regards
    El

  • Hi Nic nac 26

my story on profile but diagnosis on 27/6 with mastectomy ( no reconstruction) eight days later on the 4th . So similar to yourself .

This is one of the best p,aces to come to help you come to terms with what is happening. There is always someone here to listen to you talk ,cry ,shout even laugh on occasion whatever you need at the time ...so do keep visiting .

If it helps I can wake up most mornings ar the minute ..then remember .. then cry . Yet when I made the decision for mastectomy I was back in control and the tears stopped .

I think I worried my cancer. care nurse because I was so calm but my belief was and still is I needed to get rid !

its hard but we do learn to cope with whatever gets thrown at us with the help of this group .

One step at a time and ...Breathe !
