Wondering if anyone can help....
My Aunt had lung cancer a few years ago and has routine CT scans to check her lungs.
At the last routine scan she was told she had 4 lumps in her remaining breast (she had a mastectomy 20 years ago for breast cancer). Apparently they could tell that 3 were benign, prior to my Aunt confirming this as she remembers them being checked out some years ago.
However, the consultant said he "wasn't sure" about the 4th and she has an appointment next week for the breast care clinic.
I think I know the answer to my question - in that we need to wait and see.
However, how much can the consultant know / suspect from a CT scan?
I assume that the presence of the breast care nurse in the appointment was routine / the accepted protocol for a case like this, rather than meaning anything bad?
I know that lung cancer and breast cancer are different, but her lung cancer was diagnosed from CT scan only. (Obviously other tests were done along the way, but the cancer diagnosis was purely from CT scan.)
I am trying to prepare myself as much as possible for the worst so I can be supportive if it comes to that, without being too negative!
Hi and welcome to the online community
It's natural to be worried about your aunt especially with her previous history with cancer.
I haven't had breast cancer but I was recalled recently after a routine mammogram and examined by a breast consultant. With him was a breast care nurse and I would think this is perfectly normal as she assisted him during my examination.
I can't answer your question about whether breast cancer can be diagnosed from a CT scan but by replying to you it will bump your post back to the top of the page where hopefully it'll be seen by someone who can answer your question. I'm also tagging this group's Community Champions , and GRANNY59 and hopefully one of them will be free to drop by and talk to you.
Do come back next week and let us know how your aunt got on.

My experience is that they scan may suggest but a biopsy will clarify fully
Hope that helps
